Desperate to stop him, Superman even tried to lobotomize the creature with his heat vision just as his Justice Lord counterpart did. A ferocious battle ensued with Doomsday beating the Man Of Steel to exhaustion. He targeted Superman, who participating in the Justice League's evacuation of the island in preparation for an imminent volcanic eruption. Doomsday then killed Milo, and fled the Cadmus compound via a rocket ship to the volcanic island of San Baquero. Milo after he had just been dismissed from Cadmus by Waller, Doomsday convinced Milo that he would help Milo get revenge. Second Fight with Supermanĭoomsday was recovered by Cadmus and he slowly recuperated with his advanced healing powers. After he had apparently physically beaten the Justice Lords, Justice Lord Superman included, into submission, the Justice Lord used his heat vision to lobotomize Doomsday, temporarily sidelining him. He then proceeded to go on a rampage only to encounter the Justice Lords. DOOMSDAY VS DARKSEID FREEHe is unfamiliar with Superman during their first encounter, stating that he simply wanted to challenge the best fighters of the planet and that he only seeks power.ĭoomsday managed to break free and forced the rocket back to Earth, landing near Metropolis. In his initial appearance in A Better World, Doomsday is portrayed as emerging from a meteorite. Much of the preceding information was revealed retroactively in The Doomsday Sanction. He became increasingly difficult to control so Amanda Waller arranged for him to be imprisoned in a rocket and blasted off into space. Ultimately, Doomsday was to be the Project's fail-safe in the case Superman ever went rogue again. He was repeatedly subjected to brainwashing simulations that humiliated him and fueled his rage towards Superman. He was made from a genetic sample by Emil Hamilton, but was engineered to be his superior. He returned to life too because-come on-he’s Superman. Doomsday, however, awoke from his slumber and survived (though chained to the asteroid). One of them strapped the apparently lifeless body of Doomsday to an asteroid and flung it into deep space. (We can presume from the levitating dirt above his coffin in the final shot that the Man of Steel will return just in time for the Justice League films.) After all, Doomsday is best known as the monster who kills Superman in “The Death of Superman.” The two characters confront each other in front of the Daily Planet building in Superman’s home city of Metropolis and beat each other to death.Īfter Superman’s death, four super-beings appeared, two of whom claimed to be the real Superman. It will probably come as no surprise to comic book fans that Superman’s fight with Doomsday ends with his “death” at the end of the film. However, Doomsday does share blood with General Zod in Smallville, the TV show about Superman’s early years. In the comic books, Doomsday is created long before General Zod is even born. The Kryptonian science behind General Zod’s transformation goes largely unexplained in Batman v Superman. Given the damage to that ship, it’s unclear how Doomsday is created.
